In May of 2010, Maureen Reyes will be receiving a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology as well as a minor in Environmental Science from San Jose State University. She has been working within the educational system for nine years either as a tutor, teacher's assistant, student teacher or after-school educator. Prior to working with the After School All Stars, Maureen was the director of the after-school program at a local San Jose private institution. Upon moving to downtown San José three years ago, she was inspired to be active in her immediate community and decided to do this through the After-School All-Stars. This is the beginning of her third year at Horace Mann elementary and she couldn't be more pleased with the sense of community and the support that the ‘Husky’ family has to offer. Maureen envisions the 2009-2010 school year to present many educational and cultural opportunities for students as they explore the many resources that downtown San Jose has to offer. She looks forward to getting to know the All-Star students and families and growing together as they embark on a new and exciting year.
